  1. Hi!
    I have a lot of SVCD on CD's.. the problem is that i want to move this movies over to a DVD. This way I can put 7 movies on each DVD. Is this possible? I have tried to follow the guides on this page, but I think the outcome is of poor quality. The reason why I want to put them on a DVD is that I want to play them on the xbox mediaplayer. So is this possible?
    Thanks for all answers!

  2. if you convert them to Divx, you will only be able to burn them as DATA DVD....that means most regular DVD players will not be able to play them...

    only the new ones coming out that support Divx.

    SVCD->Divx here: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/svcd2divx.htm

    as for XBox..i have no idea

  3. OK why do you need to conver them to divx?

    For the XBOX usage (Yup I do this) just use vcdeasy to extract the mpeg file from the svcd and then burn that to the dvd, BUT make sure you use UDF format to burn the disc for the xbox as if you dont then you have problems with it reading the files or more precise you can read the files but it only plays one of them !! it has issues with the TOC I think.

    So extract the svcd to mpeg and then burn them all to dvd with xbox settings, NERO has one to tick for xbox udf, and this way you get the same quality as the svcd and no time wasting.

    Works for me

  4. I use Dr. Divx, but Gordian Knot is good too, and free. How do you play divx on your xbox? dod you need a mod chip? What kind of DVD's you use, mine spits out any burned DVD I put in it.

  5. I have not played with the new expliots but yes you do need a mod chip and then you can install XBMP on you hard drive and this allows you to play divx etc, if you use the slayers install disc you also get the dvd dongle free player (NO macrovision either )

    I have made backups of some of my discs on simple cheap princo dvd-r and also have various flavours of dvd-r and they all play fine on the xbox, but the udf burn is very important on divx and mpeg files for it to be able to read them OK
