  1. This might be a dumb question.I'm trying to rip a movie into a svcd. Now the movie I'm trying to rip is a 2hr 3min movie. Now I used FITCD to get the bitrate with 224 audio which is 1553 avg 1149 min 2450 max for 2CD 80min. My question is I dont want to rip this to 2CDS cause the bitrate is way to low, also I dont want to put this movie on 3cds (2442avg). Is there a way to get a better bitrate than 1553 so I could fit it on 2cds? Like to get it around 1700 or more.

What's it say if you go to 300 minimum, and 192 audio, and up your average? It should fit to 2 CDs at a higher average.
2 hours plus is a good bit for 2 CDs, the Q has to suffer, the general concensus is 35-40 minutes per disk.

  3. 1) i would suggest you to split onto 3 CD-Rs.... higher bitrate = higher quality video.....

    2) if you really want to split into only 2 CD-Rs, then do as gmatov sez and lower your audio bitrate to 192 kbit/s...but no lower. then, you will need to cut out the end credits. that will save you 5 min. of video and audio. also, multi-pass VBR is a must. if you have CCE, then tha'tll be great cuz you can do 4 - 5 pass VBR and the quality will look pretty decent. however, you prolly won't be able to use an avg. bitrate higher than 1.6 mbit/s.

so best bet is to stick with 3 CD-Rs....video quality will be much, much better.

as long as you don't exceed 2778 kbit/s total SVCD bitrate (video + audio), then you are still within SVCD standard.
