  1. Hey folks!

I'm working with an MPEG-4 and have found out some file attributes. I have a data rate of 1.3 mbits/s. I want to make sure that value is the entire data rate including audio and not just the video bitrate.

Also, the audio attributes are 8-bit 22.05 kHz which I mulitplied to get 176.4 kbps.

I would just like a second opinion to verify the integrity of my attributes...

When exporting after editing my video bitrate would be 1.3 mbits/s minus 176.4 kbps?

And the optimal audio bitrate would 176 kbps, rounded down?

176.4kbps would only be correct if the audio was mono, and uncompressed PCM.

If you use MediaInfo, it will tell you everything you want to know, including video, audio and total bitrates.

  3. The audio is already wrecked and can't be improved because it's 22.05 kHz. As for the video, since you didn't say what you used to determine the video bitrate (and if it also includes the audio and muxing overhead), no one can help. Open it in GSpot or MediaInfo and get the information from one of them.
