  1. I've finally used about every "worthy" DVD Authoring program out there. I've used DVDit, Reel DVD, DVD Producer, Scenarist, DVDWorkshop, DVDLab, DVDArchitect and many others that I cannot think of at the moment. To my surprise, even after almost 4 years since it was developed, DVDMaestro still is the easiest, most intuitive, and most powerful authoring package that is available. It seems to combine every feature you would want with sweet simplicity. It was a VERY well thought out program! It is quite unfortunate that it is not still for sale so all of you could experience its benefits. I hope the much anticipated Adobe Encore takes Maestro and "updates" it to the new millenium.

By the way, most of my menu creation is done with Photoshop and Vegas Video 4. So obviously, I create everything from scratch rather than using templates.

    Again, just my 2 cents.

  2. hey man maybe you can help me
i just started using dvd authoring given i just got a dvd burner
and i am using the ulead moviefactory i heard so much about
and my question is when im burning or authoring the dvd
    ulead takes FOREVER man
and i wanted to know is that usual
like it does like two processes (not encoding the video) but like separating
vob or some other kind of files
and then some other step which takes about 10-20 minutes each then it finally burns it
so the entire burn process takes up to 30-40 minutes!!!!
is this normal or does ulead just take this long????

  3. That sounds normal to me. how fat is your PC and hard drives?

What speed is your DVD burner? my 2.4X burner takes 25 min just to burn a full DVD, so if you add another 10 min for MovieFactory to prep the files, that seems about right.

  4. Yes,
Unfortunately, given the complexity of your video (transitions, special effects, etc), it can take that long. Not sure how you could cut that time down except to get the new Mac G5 LOL, except now your software would not be compatible
