I need recommendations as to a simple web design package.
Note the word simple, it needs to be the dvd equivalent of dvd2one
Call me lazy, call me ignorant (call me gay if you're under 15) but I don't have time to spend an age learning the intricacies of professional web design.
I've been using MS Frontpage for an age now but find it's very limited.
My main problem is the background and menu buttons of my existing sites are rubbish, so I'd like to start from a template and add my own stuff, rather than create everything from scratch.
Can anyone recommend a good package?
    Many thanks,
    Will

Sure man. Templates are great starting points. They are usually just graphics that you can use while you code the website. That's what I did. I can't draw or create graphics, so I used a template to get the graphics and coded the website myself.

I'm sorry my friend, am I missing something?
There was nothing in your first post other than your web link.
Are you (kindly) suggesting I use yours or have you forgotten to link me to a template site (or something)?

  9. What's the extension of the file?

Most templates I have dealt with either come as a .html file (in which case I use Dreamweaver or Frontpage) or as a .psd file (in which case I use PhotoShop 7).

They should just be .jpg files along with .html files. Wordpad/Note pad can open and edit html just fine. Are they not working for ya'?

It seems that once you enter your e-mail address that you'll get a .zip file, which can be unzipped with the Winzip program.

  12. You can use mine: fake@fake.com

Hmm... that makes me wonder, is their actually an email address with that address, and how much spam would he or she get?

    Will,

Try these links, both free wysiwyg, and from an English site, or an English mag. They don't any longer list Net Objects Fusion 2.0, though it came on the software disk with PC Plus mag

    http://www.pcplus.co.uk/downloads/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=16266&subsectioni...ubsectionid=10

    http://www.pcplus.co.uk/downloads/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=10322&subsectionid=362

I used the carriage return to word wrap these urls, so if they don't work, either do a backspace before the 5 digit numbers, or go to www.pcplus.co.uk and do a search for html editors. There are more than these 2 there.

The mag would be worth buying regularly, except that is about 100 pounds, here. Much cheaper there, as it's domestic. 14 USD on the stands, so unless the CD/DVD has something I want, I pass.

    Cheers,

    George

edit; I did the backspace, because it didn't come up as a complete url. Checking to see if it does, now. It does, but edited spelling, also.

tgpo where did you get your template. Is it from the link you provided? I really like it and would like to build my own website from that layout... can you help me out?

What? You want to steal my page design??

Yeah I got it from that site, but it originally had a sea and dolphin theme, so I editted it a little to better suit my needs.
