  1. I have been trying to make a VCD with a menu and I really like the Ulead MF2 interface and range of options, including adding a song. The problem is that 90% of the clips show all this weird lines. The first time, I let MF2 encode the clips. After seeing the result, I turned back to good ole TmpgEnc and encoded the clips like ussual. The clips play fine, but when I upload them to MF2, they still show the lines!!

Here's a screenshot of Ulead in action:

The same lines show on a stand-alone DVD player. I searched all over and seems like I'm the only one with this problem. I have the latest DivX codec and tryed with and w/o NIMO. Same results on Win XP pro and 98SE.

I already made tons of VCDs using everything from music videos, to movies without a problem. I finally made the VCD using the NERO 5 menus, and they turned out perfect, but I really want to use MF2.

    ....going crazy...

  2. That looks Hell'a messed up! Are you playing in the same format as the video, NTSC or PAL. Also if it's for standard television then make sure it stays de-interlaced.

  3. Thanx for the reply, machine, but all were encoded like that. I guess I'll just have to wait till Nero 6 comes out and see how their menu builder has to offer. I hope they don't delay the release anymore...

  4. I think Nero 6 is already out, I saw it at Fry's last week. I have never had that problem with my MF2. Have you tried reinstalling it to reset all the defualt settings?

I have read posts from more than one individual suggesting the NIMO and DivX can wreak havoc with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 on some computer systems.

I suspect these may be in conflict on your system.

  6. Well, I tried uninstalling DivX from 98 and still get the same results. I never had Nimo in 98. Nero6 is the same as 5 as far as menus. shoot. Dang. I guess I'll try the ultimate test. Create a new partition and install 98 or ME and try Ulead on a freash install. I love Nero, but the menus just plain suck...

    Thanx for the suggestions..
