i read everywhere that burning at 4x should take around 15 minutes. mine are taking 25-28mins to complete so i thought i'd ask if anyone knows why this would be.
i have a pioneer a06 and using nero to burn and using datawrite DVD'S.
any ideas?
cheers,
jaffy

*tested w/ XP - should be similar in 2000*
Open the 'Computer Management' console app, accessible in XP by right clicking 'My Computer' and selecting 'Manage' from the context menu. Select the 'Device Manager' from the tree on the left, and find your IDE controllers. Right-click and select 'Properties' for the IDE controller which your burner is on. If the burner is in 'PIO' mode, delete the IDE controller and re-add it, then reboot. Windows will redetect the controller and (hopefully) put it in 'DMA 2' mode or above. -

I get confused with variations in naming with DMA, but as long as you're not in PIO mode you should be okay...maybe someone more knowledgeable about DMA can chime in.
