    Hey all,
I've got some vob files (surround demos) that I'd like to burn to CD (not DVD) to play on a DVD player (not on a PC).
Any ideas how I do it?

    Hope you can help...

you need to know whether your player supports SVCD or VCD, then convert the vob's to vcd or svcd.

    https://www.videohelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm

in step 1 you would file open your VOB instead of mpeg2 like the guide says.

I convert dvd to vcd and svcd but that's for films etc. and is only stereo.
These are shorter clips and I wanted to keep the surround tracks on the cd. Converting to svcd would lose that wouldn't it?
Otherwise I usually rip, dvd2avi, tmpgenc.

    Cheers again,

You can author as a dvd as usual and burn on a cdr/w media instead of dvd. But it will only work on few dvd players, it is called minidvd or cdvd www.dvdrhelp.com/minidvd
