  1. Hi!

I have Radeon 64 Mb DDR VIVO and having problems with DVD. After watching the DVD for five minutes the "screen" freezes, but audio keeps going and DVD spinning.

The first DVD I played, worked fine (Region 1). Then I changed to Region 2 and tried to play "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", but the video froze after playing it about 5 minutes. I tried to use the trick that was explained in ATI support pages, but it did not help. I tried another Region 2 DVD (Men in Black), but same thing happened. I've tried other DVD-players, but they have the same problem.

It does not matter if I'm using Video out or watching it from my monitor. Same problem.

I'm using the latest ATI DVD Player (4.1) and latest driver (5.13.01.3102) on Windows 2000 SP2. Abit KG7Raid, AMD Thunderbird 1,4GHz, SBLive!Value, 256 Mb memory, Pioneer DVD-116. I have installed also Directx8 and Video Capture Update for DirectX 8.0. I have the latest AMD/AGP-drivers, VIA4in1 is 1.432 (not 1.433), Highpoint v1.2.0612.

  2. I found out that this happened due to installation of WinDVD evaluation version. It stops after 5 minutes of playing. The problem was that though I un-installed thi evaluation version and cleaned up registry, all the other players also stopped after 5 minutes!
Fixed it by installing it again and applying crack for it. Sad...
