  1. I've tried scouring this extensive forum for an answer to my question, but either it's not there, or i'm not looking hard enough. Either way, here it is. I've downloaded Forty-Two and installed it as it described, and tried running it. It opened up and all, but when I drag a DVD disc to it, it seems like it takes it a while to Prescan it. is it the same with you all? How long does it take for you for it to do that? My Mac is a G4, so it should be pretty fast.

That's normal, it's running its little disc scanning routine, working its magic. Nothing to be alarmed about. And you think that takes a while . . . wait 'till you start processing the video . . .
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

well there is only a few things i can think of... did you download the full installer and run taht first and then run the update? also i assume you ran build forty-two support? is it prescanning and just getting stuck there? or just taking longer than you would think?
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn outside the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.

I think that it was just taking longer than he thought it would to produce the vcd.

  6. well, how long does it usually take you guys to scan a DVD? I was trying to scan a dual-layer DVD, and after a few minutes I was getting kinda confused as to how long it would take, as the guides really don't specify anything about it.I just downloaded a full installer, put the files in the Applications folder or whatever it specified, and ran it. Is there anything else I should do?

  7. If, at some point the app moves on from prescaning to some other task than it's working OK. If it's taking more then 6 hrs for the scan then you might have an issue.
    The future is tomorrow!
