  1. I have been trying to figure this out for a while and I am stumped. I am trying to move over from Ulead DVD Workshop to DVD Maestro for all of the aformentioned advantages. However, every project that I have compiled, I have not been able to playback from the hard drive in PowerDVD. Here is my standard process:

Encode using CCE from 23.97 DIVX source video
    run pulldown
encode audio as 2 channel AC3 using AC3machine
follow the Doom9 guide to author using Maestro
    compile to hard drive
open DVD files from PowerDVD to preview

Power DVD hangs and then stops, with no playback whatsoever. I think I have followed all of the instructions correctly. Am I missing something?

  2. Have you set the 1st play in maestro? It warns you when you compile.

Which file do you open with PowerDVD, ifo?

Can you play one of the VOB files with PowerDVD?

Did you try a simple example 1 movie no menu?

  3. Besides setting the first play, did you delete the *.lay file (forget full name) from the VIDEO_TS dir? Some DVD software players (and even some standalones) do NOT like this file (non-standard) and will not play with it there.

Spruce .sup and .lay files are a pain too.
Anything that doesn't belong can make a mess.
PowerDVD like to dump files in folders too if you test before burning.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Setting 1st play will fix your problem.

    Enjoy!
