Hi. I just purchased an EMachines T2625.
I have a Daewoo 5800 dvd player, supposedly plays almost anything. Never had any problems playing vcd's and svcd's I burned on old system.

Bought media from Meritline.com....-R/-RW assortment. can't get any of it to play on it.

Have used advc100 to transfer analog to studio7 or the new xp programd and burned with nero. 1 coaster, others play on computer but not on Daewoo. Any suggestions?

    Thanks and Godbless

  2. Which verison of Nero. The newest verison (seems to) work, but older verisons had several problems (eg. only burnt in UDF 1.05). You might want to try authoring/burning with a different program. Esp since your DVD-Rs play on your PC but not your standalone.

Freeware wise you might want to try IMGTools and DVD Decrypter. You can d/load both from http://www.doom9.org Basically you use IMGTools to create an ISO image file of your VIDEO_TS folder, then burn the image file with DVD decrypter.

D/loading the newest Nero update might fix the problem.

The other problem could be your media. Some standalones do not like certain media, try to find a roommate/relative/friend's standalone to test it out on.

I had already downloaded the latest version of nero.
Went to compusa and bought a few dvd+rw to try.
Phillips burned, no sound though, very slow to load in the daewoo 5800.
I don't understand why a vcd burned on the same burner would have sound but the dvd doen't?

Well compusa also had MAGIX "Movies to CD & DVD" http://europe.magix.com/index.php?id=1998
for $10, I've loaded it and trying it now.

  4. have you looked at the dvd player compatibility section?

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

has plenty of user comments on your particular DVD player....perhaps, it CAN play all formats, but may be more picky on the brand of media...

you really need to check that compatibility list if you haven't....just because your DVD player plays VCDs and SVCDs doesn't necessarily mean it'll play DVD-R/+R or DVD-RW/+RW.

Many players hate -RW and +RW media, though it is fine with -R and +R.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
