Hi there!
I am having a problem with encoding. Although I have been able to successfully encode and burn high quality VCDs before in the easiest way possible i have stumbled upon a problem.
I encoded ispy and star trek nemises and both of those movies had problems, Ispy after encoding and burning came out in Dutch and star trek had a guys voice over the movie narrating the scenes.
Is this some sort of new anti piracy thing? does anyone have any suggestions on how i can by pass this if so.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks
Kris

Looks like you encoded the wrong sound track. Dutch translation and director's commentary.
Hello. -
I assume you are ripping the DVD ?
As you are probrably aware most DVD's have multiple audio tracks (different languages, directors commentary etc). You are simply ripping the wrong audio track. -
Thanks guys
I will have to try them again, it was pretty late and i was tired when i done them so perhaps i did stuff up, cause i ripped halloween and the tuxedo yesterday without a problem.
I just thought it may be some new piracy thing as they both came from the same distribution company and both came out all wrong.
Anyone want a copy of Ispy in dutch?
Next time i try ripping them i will be sure to watch and listen to atleast 10 minutes of the movie before i start encoding. I will try them both again in the next few days and i will let you know the result.

if you're using dvd2avi to decode the audio tracks and frameserve into tmpgenc, make sure you listen to various parts of the .wav file dvd2avi created before encoding..make sure it's the one you want.
english isn't always the first audio track. -
download ac3 filter, or install windvd, one of the two...
then you should be able to open the .AC3 in windows media player to make sure its the right one.
plus, if you open the vts_ifo.txt i think it is, it'll say which track is englishpoop. -
hi there
I am using DVDX and Power DVD to encode my movies, I usually dont have a problem at all using this method, it must have been through my error, i must have overlooked something.
I spent such a long time finding the most easiest and quickest way to rip my movies.
I will try again and if the movies turn out the same again, i will have to try something different.
Thanks for your help and advice i appreciate it

DVDx is made weird. i think it grabs the audio track with the best bitrate or something weird.
i used it twice, both videos had the wrong audio.
use gordianknot from www.doom9.orgpoop. -
thanks for replying
I have used the same method to encode and rip all of my vcds and havent had a problem till now. Perhaps it was just my error but i freaked as it has never happened to me before now, thats why i thought there maybe some new anti copy software installed on the disk.
I will try them again and see how I go with them and if i fail again in doing so I will try something completel different.
Thankyou once again for your advice.
Krissy
I have just been speaking with the guy who came to install the pay tv and we were talking about this and he said he has had the same problem with a couple of moviesfrom the same distributor which i think is miramax.
I will have to try and look into this futher and see what i can find out
