    I have an MDP-100.

It is OK except for needing a very fast machine for the analog recording. Haven't tried digital yet, as things are just now getting switched on for that. At work we started to transmit HDTV yesterday. All reports are that it works well for digital. The newer MDP-120 can only be an improvement.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  2. Do you need a special antenna to receive an HDTV siganl? Is it sent out over cable?

  3. Most digital transmisisons are on the UHF band, so a regular UHF antenna will work. Not all stations transmit in HD, some only have their standard def video on the digital channel. The DTV channel can carry 4 standard definition channels, or one HD signal.

Anyone that says you need a special antenna is full of $h!+

GE Max model of UHF antenna are highly regarded. If you have room to put up a real antenna, any of the large outside antennas from RadioShack should be fine. Just needs to have UHF capability. Check at http://www.cinefx.com

    EDIT:

They only list the Terk antennas now. Last report I read the Terks are crap! Maybe different now, maybe not!
