I've recently re-formatted and re-installed. Getting this in terminal:

Encoding started on Thu Jul 17 19:33:36 EDT 2003
    Using GNU internationalization
    Original domain: messages
    Original dirname: /usr/local/share/locale
    Current domain: mplayer
    Current dirname: /usr/local/share/locale

MEncoder dev-CVS-030621-18:34-3.1 (C) 2000-2003 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS)

    AltiVec found
Reading /Users/j-y/.mplayer/codecs.conf: can't open '/Users/j-y/.mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory
Reading /usr/local/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf: can't open '/usr/local/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory
    Using built-in default codecs.conf
    File not found: 'frameno.avi'
    Failed to open frameno.avi
Reading config file /Users/j-y/.mplayer/mencoder: No such file or directory
-dvd N is deprecated, use dvd://N instead.
    Exiting... (error parsing cmdline)
Encoding completed on Thu Jul 17 19:33:36 EDT 2003

Of course no encoding takes place.

    I've installed the engines, etc.

One other oddity, Under the audio tab when I click Check audio track, I get a message: Apple Script error :No such file or directory (1).

Using 0.0.6m. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks

try using the binaries recommended by ffmpegX, the mencoder binary is an older compile and should be compatible:

    cheers
