  2. Hello,

I personally own a JVC HR-DVS3U (http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL026939). Its listed on their site at $1400 but I got it around $800. I can only recommend this product. Heres what I use it for:

    1. Transferring DV media to PC via firewire instead of using camcorder.
    2. Transferring DV <-> S-VHS (ET) - dubbing with no pc required
    3. Transferring analog video / audio <-> firewire.

Its a good svhs / minidv player recorder have not given me a moments grief compared to the nonsense that I get from PC video (can anyone say re-installing Windows 2000 / XP periodically? ).

    regards,
    Bruce.

I owned a JVC HR-DVS2U to transfer my vhs collection to DVD. I would have kept it but I already had a decent SVHS player and a minidv camcorder. I sold mine on ebay for about $500. In a couple of years I'll probably try to buy one back from ebay since they would come in handy even for casual use.

I would look on ebay for a lightly used one in its original packaging and have the seller ship it to you double boxed.

You can search for the following models since they are all similar.

    HR-DVS3U, HR-DVS2U, HR-DVS1U, SR-VS30U, SR-VS20U, SR-VS10U
