  1. Hi all,

I have got a video from my holiday and there were scenes where people are talking but the sound is not very clear.

I'd like to put subtitle so that people who watch it can get the conversation without turning up the sound.

Any suggesttion on prog that i can use for this purpose?

    Thanks!

  2. Yes you can do this but what's your final format: VCD, SVCD, CVD, DVD, DivX, etc. And do you want selectable subtitles or are permanant subtitles ok?

VCD - must use permanant subtitles

DivX - should use permanant but can make selectable

SVCD/CVD - support selectable subtitles but they do not work on all standalones. Some standalones perfer SVCD subs some perfer CVD subs. My players all prefer CVD subs (which I can put on a SVCD).

    DVD - your pick

For permanant subs pretty much any program can do this: eg. VDub + subtitler filter with SubStation Alpha script.
