2x Accu's on Sony DRU-500a

A number of online stores are selling 2x Accu's for about $.85 each. On store's web sites they state that people have reported burning at 2x speed with firmware version 1.0f. I have firmware version 2.0f. Will the Accu's burn OK at 2x with this newer version of firmware?

Are they 2x Accu's or are they really 1x Accu's that are said to burn at 2x on the DRU-500a? Anyway, with 1.0f I got 2x burn speeds with 1x Accu's and they would play fine in my standalone; however, I had problems with reading most of the discs (data and movies) in any DVD-ROM drive. I could (however) still read them in the Sony DRU-500a. When I flashed to 2.0f my 2x burn speeds on these discs went to 1x; however, all discs that I've burned to date (~20 or so) play well in DVD-ROM drives and still play well in my standalone player.
