  1. Hi I have captured a couple of videos but the color turned out quite bland.

I was wondering if there is any encoding software or video player out there that will let you watch the video and tweak the contrast and colors easily on the fly?

Please help! Any advice greatly appreciated!

  2. I got around that problem when I bought the Sima Video CopyMaster box from BestBuy for $39. This goes between your VCR or whatever you are outputting from to your computer capture device (I use the AVerDVD PCI capture card). What the CopyMaster does is filter, amplify, re-sync, and level the video out prior to capture. It also removes any copy protection however the manufacture will deny that.

  3. Thanks for the reply Bob

My ati all in wonder has the option to tweak the colour while you encode too, but unforuntely my vcr is having troubles so i can hook it up to my computer again to re-encode it

Is there possibly any software or player that can't tweak the colour from the mpeg files at all??

But that's a little out of my budget

But is there any players at all that can let you adjust the colours while watching a mpeg??

Why not try in Windows Media Player? Turn on the equalizer and turn on video settings and turn the saturation up or down. MOST players have some controls, even if you have to look around some to find them..

Clearly it won't change the file but it's fine for watching, and you'll know exactly what to change if you re-encode the video later. Of course this may or may not be available due to graphic card drivers, but I doubt there are many cards it doesn't work on..
