  1. I have been authoring my DVDs with IFOedit for some time now. If the DVD is dual layer but the actual movie can fit on one disc I usually just use DVD decrypter to demux the audio and video tracks and use IFOedit to author the DVDs. Or if the movie is too big I re-encode the video at a lower bitrate with TMPG. Now I have been doing this process for months with no problem and my movies would play on pretty much any DVD player that I threw them at, with the exception of a select few. Recently I started converting SVCDs to DVD by reencoding the video in TMPG to DVD complyancy. Ive had no problem doing this until now. Pretty much every DVD I burn is a coaster and I havent changed anything in my process. Can anyone recommend a more stable more compatible DVD authoring tool? Cuz also IFOedit crashes like a b*tch in XP.

  2. did you do a "Get VTS Sectors" before you burned the disk?

That's probably not it though, burning coaster is usually caused be fragmented hard drives.

  3. Are you still starting fires by rubbing sticks together?

There are easier and better cheap or free authoring programs out there, why risk making coasters?

Check out DVD Lab if you are low on money, its not much more than a few ruined blanks.
