  2. I assume you're talking about the VCD Header trick, if you are the answer is no.

    You could copy the mpeg to your HD and reverse the header trick
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

  3. I've made about 60 discs with the header trick and every one will play sound, but not picture, if the file is on my HD. Just recently, I put one of my burned discs in to rip the files off of it. I brought up Windows Media player just to see if I get anything......I got picture and sound. It was a little jerky (looked liked someone hitting pause repeatedly) every few minutes, but otherwise, played fine.

    do you have an mpeg2 codec installed on your computer? you have to to be able to watch svcd. the header trick does not change the file type. it will only add the header to trick your dvd player.
