this is a guide on How to burn 2dvds to one. and keeping movie seperate. and keeping original chapters

    before u start this project

verify that u can access titles with your standalone dvd player

    like title 2

    tools u will need

dvd shrink dvd toolbox maybe instant copy and ifoedit

if u want to do 2 dvd to one

this is a dvd from a friend of mine's camcorder. he did 2 movies on it.
i put it my computer just to see how a 2 dvd movie disc is layed out

i reauthor just the main movies from both disc uncompressed with dvd shrink with their own folders

u should know how to do this

    reauthored 1st movie

reauthored 2nd movie this isjust for showing this tutorial

then u cut and paste the second disc vts_01_0 ifo and bup files(i leave the main video_ts ifo and bup file alone) and all of the vobs after i rename all of them to vts_02 (ifo bup and vobs) to the folder of the first disc

make sure u cut and paste the files to the first folder. and leave the main video_ts ifo file and video_ts bup file of the second folder alone.

the second dvd files look like this.

    rename 2nd dvd files

    vts_02_0ifo
    vts_02_0bup
    vts_02_1vob
    vts_02_2vob
    vts_02_3vob
    vts_02_4vob
    vts_02_5, etc

    cut

these are the renamed files that were cut and pasted from the second dvd
(notice i left the main video_ts ifo file and video_ts bup file of the second folder back there)

    paste

i then use dvd toolbox to fix all of the ifos

i load the dvd files into dvd toolbox

i then push create video manager. click ok. then click execute.

    than click analyse

    wait for toolbox to finish

wait for toolbox to fix everything (correcting all the ifo) then correct dvd sectors

then if the combine movies are 6.5gig or less i shrink them with dvd shrink as it will quick and great quality, if they are longer than 6.5 gig i shrink them with ic7

u should already know how to do that

when dvd shrink is done burn with your dvd burning program

which by the way, ic7 kill all the competition with it come to shrinking a 12 gig movie file

i then have a 2 movie dvd (quality better than svcd)

u just have to push title two on the stand alone dvd player to see the 2nd movie

u will have figure that part out by yourself as every dvd player is different

on one dvd player i get push the 2 button and it automatically came up

on another i mess around for 15 min before i found it (i have to push the display button to change it)

on another i have to go into menu to find title change

Vance, there is a lot of software, some free, out there that will accomplish that. Try a basic search in Yahoo or Google. In the meantime, try "print screen", open Paint and then, "ctrl V." After you have the image, save as "your filename."

Vance, you can't use spaces in the image filenames. Rename them and upload again.

    vance,

I have never done two movies on one disk so I may be wrong here but why not take the approach of getting elementary streams of movies and then importing into authoring program? I will use spruce up because it is so simple. Just import video and audio for both movies, make a picture which is a split screen of the movies and then buttons pointing to movie.
You will have to make chapters manually though. Very easy simple and no need for having hidden movie.....T2....rings bell.
If original chapters are important I am sure maestro can do everything above and import the chapters.

    Am I off here?

    another side benefit

if u do a black bar issue movie

put it as the second movie and ic7 will still fill your disc all the way up
