    I had a repackaged NEC 1300A by Cendyne and got rid of it cause its media compatibility was terrible. How good is the A06 with cheap media like BeAll? Does the drive have any problems installing with XP? I'm thinking about buying it because at $250 it's a bargain compared to Sony's $300.

    So far I've only used 4x TDK and 2x Verbatim (but it *was* cheap media, since I paid only $1.30 per disk :>) but it installed just fine under XP and seems to work great.

    I'd recommend it -- I think I like it better than my Sony A500.

    Just finished ordering one for $249 dollars. I would have bought it at a store but Bestbuy, Compusa and Circuit City always overprice the drives.
