OK I ripped a DVD to SVCD, and playback of the mpg in PowerDVD works fine. So, I vcdimager it and burn it, playback in PowerDVD works fine again, but playing on my Raite AVPhile gives me a jumbled screen, and the time seems off (it'll play for 1 sec, pause for 2, then play through those 2 seconds really fast, etc). Basically, the screen has a bunch of white lines going across it, and while I can see that it is showing some of the right picture, most of it is blocked or scrambled.

Here's the process I used to make the SVCD:
1. Rip with SmartRipper
2. DVD2AVI, Forced Film (NTSC, 16:9 AR)
3. toolame'd the wav
4. VFAPI Reader to make avi from d2v
5. Resize in Vdub to 480x480, add subtitles using vobsub.dll.
6. Frame serve to CCE 2.25 w/Progressive, 16:9 AR etc.
7. Pulldown.exe on mpv file
8. bbmpeg multiplex mpv and mpa files, split into 3 parts.

Again, software dvd plays fine, but my Raite (I don't have others to test it on) doesn't play it right. Importing into Nero SVCD template doesn't give any errors, but burning with Nero gives the same results.
