  1. Can anyone help me covert an Xvid to either SVCD or DVD mpeg, whichever will look better. The file info is as follows.
    576X320
    25 FPS
    48000HZ
    2 CHANNELS
I have tried some of the methods used in the guides and I keep getting a lot of lines through action sequences. I'm not talking about explosive scenes, just running and playing sports.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  2. 25fps is the standard framerate for a PAL source. PAL video is pretty much always interlaced. So when you say lines do you mean when viewed on your PC or when burned to SVCD/DVD and played on your standalone?

If it's an interlaced source those lines will be present when played on your PC, but will not be visable on your TV. Burn a test disc (to RW if you've got it) to confirm.

This assumes you have a PAL DVD player and TV.

  3. I forgot to add that I want to make it NTSC, not Pal. About the lines, they are only present when I rencode to Pal or NTSC SVCD with TMPGenc. The original Xvid plays without the lines.
