I have this asf file, plays fine and audio is bang on.
I want to burn it to vcd so I can watch it on the tv. I have encountered some problems. As soon as I whack it into tmpgenc it sort of cuts it diagonally and puts half on the left and half on the right. Obviously I do not want this. Below are the steps I have tried.
1. Open in VDub, asf not supported (obvious should of thought of this)
2. Convert in windows movie maker to wmv, gives me the same lines.
3. Use nero's converter (getting desperate !!) same lines.
Whatever I do conversion wise I get these lines, but still the file plays perfectly !!!
Please check out the below pic, not sure if it has come out ok.
Please help, I need this file. !!!!

Stuff the pic, cannot work it out, two annohying lines bisecting the file, only when converted to mpg or avi
PLEASE HELP !!!! -
There is an older version of VirtualDub that has asf support. Do an Internet search and I'm sure you will find it.
Also, asf tools can convert your asf into an avi which might fix your problem.

Managed to sort it with windows media encoder and then converted it to mpg using tmpgenc.
