I am looking to get a new dvd player because i cant get my Oritron 720 to play a vcd or svcd. I am taking mine back and going to get a new one. I am looking at the: Zenith DVB312, Panasonic S35S, or the Sony DVPNS325. I have read the dvd player report for these models and am confused. Some say some of the player will play vcds, some say they need a hack ( some say doesn't work). I just really want to know what one will work best. I want to be able to play vcds and possibly svcd if i can. Thanks for any help.

  2. If i was u m8 i'd get yourself the Technika DVD-300 from all good Tesco stores its retailing at around 59.99 pounds sterling, i purchased one the other day and at the mo am more than pleased with it, i used to own the LG 3200e (only plays dvd/cd) but wanted something else...this player has just as good picture/sound quality as the LG (which i paid 3 times the price of the Technika)...Ok so it wont last as long as say a 300.00 Sony player (you get what u pay for) but at this price who cares!!

The Philips 724. Look that one up in the DVD players section. It gets rave reviews and plays everything. I would reccomend that one or the CYBERHOME at Radioshack. It is a very good player as well.

I just purchased a LENOXX 2003 from COMPUSA last week. The region free and macrovision hack works. As I am typing I am copying my region 3 movies to vhs for friends who's dvd players are not compatible for SVCD's & VCD's. Now I am thinking of purchasing the PANASONIC EM30 from COSTCO. I heard it is great to connect the dvd players to make dvd recordings off of.
