No sound on 1 of the 2 standalones?

Hi there,

I've made a dvd with DTS only and sound is ok on powerdvd and on a sony standalone. But on my thomson 4200 only the DTS logo is showed on the player display but i hear nothing willl the picture is playing ok. now i know that this plyer supports DTS playback from original DVD's. So does someone have a clue of what could cause this? is it mayby because streamID is 0x89 and not 0x88? i can't test witch DVD+RW because this player does not support is. So before burning alterd dvd i would like to be sure as possible. I hope you will and can help me.

Many standalone DVD players have a separate menu where you can adjust audio settings. I would give that a try.

I forgot to mention that i've already done that but there are no specific settings. The only option is to have DTS decoding ON or OFF and ofcours it's ON. So any other ideas are welcomed!

I take it u have a DTS decoder, ie some sort of amplifer. It could be that your DVD is just picky, because you should have a 5.1 track (0x80) or any sort of PCM track, first. 0x89 is correct for DTS, you could try to remap it to 0x80 in DVD Decryter at the ripping process. Not sure if that will make much of a difference.

By the way do ORIGANL DTS films play in this player?
