Just wondering if any member has had the oppurtunity to play with the new version. Figured someone might be on the beta team or new someone who was. Haven't heard that much about it. Think it is suppose to release Friday.

It's already out on store shelves.

  3. I have the Nero 6 and am impressed. Seems like they added quite a bit to it. In Nero Burning Rom they now include the MPG2 support, plus it comes with Nero Express 2 which was previously separate, InCD for using your CD/DVD drive like a hard drive, and Nero BackItUp a full feature (finally) backup for CD/DVD/or another drive (even through a network). Well worth it.

  4. Forgot to mention it also has an image mounter for mounting image files as a virtual CD-ROM/DVD drive. Great for use with DVD Decrypter.

Best part is if you don't have a full version of 5.5 now, buy it and get Nero 6 on the 18th of July for free. You save this way! How did you buy it in store when it says on the web site that it is not due for release until 18 July? Just curious.

  6. I read on another forum that some best buy stores put it out on the shelves early. The one near here didnt though.

It is on store shelves at the Best Buy and Fry's near my house.

What I did was buy Nero 5 for $49 from the Nero web page and I'll get a free upgrade to Nero 6. Saves a lot of money.

  8. A pity their overseas distributors weren't as generous in the past-I bought the full-retail version 5.5x when the mp3/mp3 pro,SVCD plugins were all seperately purchased, only to see the unlimited mp3 encoder codec be included as standard about 3 or 4 months later, not impressed!

I uptained nero 6 yesterday and after installation and preliminary use, I was very impressed with the new look and all the extra. AH but when I tried to burn my 1st dvd with it and I would press the new pretty burn button, it would start to cache the files and the give an abrupt erro stating that the DVD drive was being used by another applycation. ????????
What application? I uninstalled and put good old version 5.5.10.42 and all is back to normal. I hope there is nothing wrong with my computer as I would really like to use 6. If this persists I'll have to take it back for a refund. It does however recognize my CD-RW drive just fine just not my Matchita DVD-RAM. The old Nero has no problem with either. I will test it against an external DVD writer which I plan to buy this week and see how it behaves!
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
