I hope this isn't against board rules, but I've tried posting for help and PMs with no luck. If you know what you are doing concerning burning DVDs on a computer, I'd be more than happy to pay someone to come over and show me how to use my set-up. All I want to do is make a DVD. Probably not cool to mention what I would pay, but I would make it worth your while because right now I have a 2500.00 paper weight that I don't know how to use. This is probably a good idea -- but if you get no takers here I would post at any of the fine community (and otherwise) colleges in the Bay area. Heck, there are tons of them, and I suspect you can find a boatload of college kids willing to work for cheap to show you what you need to know.

Most colleges have a bulletin board or some other public place you can post a notice. Good luck to you.
