Frankly I figured making a movie would be easier than this on the mac, but….
I have compiled a movie I took from my camcorder using imovie. I followed the various instructions here to try to make an SVCD. However, when I try to export from imovie3, using the idvd settings, it says imovie3 automatically exports to idvd, or something like that, so I never see the file. Where is it? What do I import to QT pro to manipulate further?
thanks

quicktime doesn't allow you to encode in mpeg-2. Even mpeg-2 plug-in for quicktime that apple sells is only a decoder, so you couldn't export as that. I would try ffmpegX to try and encode a mpeg-2 from a mpeg-1. I just usually do it on my pc, alot better tools for video conversion on pc. Then I just burn on mac. hehe
