Is it possible to take say 2 dvd's and merge them in to one?
I have The Family Guy Season One and I would like to combine 2 dvd's to one DVD-R.
It seems to me that I "should" be able to rip the video and convert it to either Mpeg1 or Mpeg 2 then merge them into one long Mpeg then use Ulead to create chapters and burn to a DVD-R.
Can someone point me in the right direction on this or give me some better options?

You can do this. It would take some time since you need to reencode everything. The bitrate would have to be lowered also. Since the bitrate will be lower, I'd suggest you use half d1 resolution(352x480 NTSC). Figure out the correct bitrate each episode would have to be in order to fit it into one dvd. If you want the best quality, use VBR 2-Pass.

I'd like to see a program that could take DVD1 and DVD2, full disc with all menus, and then make a "DVD Selection Menu" that then starts the selected disc. If the disc is too big, then just use DVD2ONE to squish it back to the proper size.
If there is a process similar to this, I'd like to know how to do it.
The Twilight Zone DVDs are about 2-3 GB each (a waste of space), and it would be nice to squeeze 2 discs onto 1. But I'd want to keep all the existing menus and extras (they are non-movie extras, either JPEG or something else I'm not familiar with).
What I want are like the old bootleg video games from Hong Kong that had like 20 games on one catridge with a big selector screen. I want a few DVDs on one disc with a selector screen (or selector menu).Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

My next question is what programs should I use?
Each DVD is made up of multiple VOB's that contain the cartoons, but they overlap each other. In otherwords episode 1 spans over VOB 1 and part of VOB 2, and so on. Is there a way to combine ALL the VOB's then use a program (TMPenc?) to convert them to MPEG 1 or 2?
What I have been able to do so far is merge them all to one VOB then use VDub to extract the audio which I can then convert using Goldwave.
The problem I am having is the Video. How can I get the video out of the merged VOB's? -
You can use vobedit to demux all of the streams out of a vob (m2v, ac3, subs).
You can even use it to pull out the m2v (video), re-encode it at a lower bitrate, and put it back.
I have no idea how you could add a menu infront of the 2 orginal disks' structures. -
Ok basically what I am looking to do is convert all the video and audio to VCD compliant MPEG. Merge them all together to one long Mpeg then load that into Ulead and make the make chapters between episodes.
