I was checking Pioneer’s web site for information about their burners, and I found that they promote the DVR-A04 burner as just for general DVD recording, not for DVD-Video. I downloaded the datasheet and compared it with the datasheet for the DVR-A05, which they do promote for DVD-Video recording, and aside from the A04 being slower that the A05, I could not find anything that would hinder burning a DVD-Video with the A04.
Does anybody know why Pioneer promotes their A04 burner that way?

No clue, they both do it fine. Maybe just a marketing oversite. I should know, I've owned both.

I also thought it must be an accidental omission, but what puzzles me is not that they don’t say it can record DVD-Video, but that they explicitly say it can’t.
