On the Win-TV-GO card, is it possible to record to AVI using some software. I am intending to buy a cheap TV/capture card to watch TV and capture from my VCR using VirtualDub. But it would be nice if i could also record the TV shows I watch.

Yes, you can. Just remember that the built-in tuner is mono only. If you want stereo captures, however, you can just use the output from the tuner of a stereo VCR, etc.
