  1. 1. I have Nero Express, and it's cool, but...

When i did an XVCD and tried to burn it, it refused because of invalid resolution (352x480). I know Nero 5 (Normal, not Express) Can burn it because in my old pc i could do that, but, the only cd recording software that recognizes my Recorder is Nero Express and Clone CD... Nor Nero nor CDRWIN (There goes VCD Easy)

Can i use Express for that, or another program that makes ISO images, compatible with Nero Express or Clone CD... I have WinXP

    Thank you very much

To save space there's a second cuestion

    2. Let's face XVCD with XSVCD. The same resolution (352x480 or 480x480) It's there a REALLY CONVINCING difference that is worth the time?

    Thank you beforehand...

  2. 1) IIRC Nero Express is 100% wizard/template ONLY. With regular nero you could uncheck the complacent check. With Express I don't think you can.

Are you sure CDRDAO will not work with your CDRW? Did you manually drive all 3 generic drivers or is it just that your drive is not listed?

    2) At the same bitrate and resolution MPEG1 looks the same as MPEG2. The advanages in MPEG2 are it supports: interlaced source, multiple audio streams, selectable subtitles, multiple angles, anamorphic discs, etc. Given that most encoders can encode MPEG1 a lot faster than MPEG2 (and TMPGenc can encode MPEG1 for free) there's nothing wrong with making xVCDs. Unless you want/need one of features only MPEG2 supports.

  3. 1. Well, i don't know what the problem is. This is not a CD-R board but i will list it...

Nero Express and Clone CD, like i said, are the only programs that accept the CD-R, but there is a more strange thing... if you work a lot with the PC, even these won't work and i have to reboot.

I tried Nero B. Rom and it did not work even with a hard reboot... and CDRWIN doesn't even bother, i installed the ASPI drivers but still no work... The Mitsumi Drive is listed as supported in their page...

    I think it's just XP.

Guess i'll stick to 352x240 with silly back ups for now Thank you very much!

    2. That's what i thought... thank you!

  4. Wow, All the Nero Expresses I've seen when we install a CD-RW drive had a button to switch to Nero.

Feeling brave, Download the latest Nero and install and see if that gives both Nero & Nero Express.

I suppose they could be licensing Express without Nero tho.

Nero was ahead of EasyCd as far as working with XP. I use it all the time with XP Pro & SP1

    Good Luck
    Roger
