I have two versions of a movie, one is Widescreen, Dolby Digital and has English Subtitles, the other version is Pan&Scan, Dolby Digital with English and Spanish subtitles.
What I want to do is "rip" the subtitles from the pan&scan version and re-author the DVD with the Widescreen + Dolby Digital + English/Spanish subtitles. Can this be done?
Can I do this with TMPGAuthor? Which could be the best authoring program to do this?
Thanks a lot. I have some experience making DVD9->DVDR backups but I haven't authored DVD's yet.
Thanks
George

First of all....yes it can be done....but it takes a lot of processor time.
You can use subrip to rip the subtitles you want into a folder.
Then you have to convert the widescreen vob's to a single mpeg2
Then you can use chapterxtractor the create a chapter file.
Then (and this is if you only want the movie and don't care about the menus') you have to import those separate elements into a program that can handle subtitles such as dvd maestro.
Then you have to create the disc again and burn
