Will DVD-R play on UK Playstation systems?

I don't own a PS2 but a friend of mine does that also uses it as his primary DVD player. I have loaned him a couple of DVD-r movies. He says they played OK but with a few stutters. So in theory they should play them but they may be awkward when it comes to media brand.

yes they will. im allways backing up my dvd s. put them onto dvd-r and play fine. all media

I found PS2's to be a lil bit more picky then maybe other DVD players but will stay ply most DVD-R fine.

Interestingly i converted some VCDs onto DVDs and the PS2 had probs with them, the picture was awfull..although i was using a (legal) 352 x 288 rez.
