  1. Hi,

I want to take my DV tapes and create a DVD with menus etc and perhaps some photo slideshows on the disc as well.

I have Premiere and CCE-SP. If needs be, I could buy some other software.

I'm confused on the best route to create the final DVD MPEG.

Once the DV is loaded into premiere, and I have done my editing, should I either:

    1. use the adobe CCE plugin to create my DVD file.
    2. use the standalone CCE and convert my avi this way
    3. someother way?

Oh, and while we're here - if my audio is at 32 (not 48) - which is the best way to upsample - using adobe/cce or some otherway?

    Thanks!

  2. I'm not familiar with the Premiere CCE plugin, but I have Premiere 6.5 that comes with MainConcept, and I also have the MainConcept standalone, so it's a similar situation.

Nearly always use the MainConcept from within Premiere -- it's lightning fast and outputs the same as the standalone. With 6.5 you can even do batch processing, in case I need to do multiple projects while I sleep.

I output to multiple streams, and this takes care of any audio processing so I don't worry about upsampling or whatever.

Finally, I import the elemental streams into DVDLab -- terrific authoring tool, but doesn't directly support slideshows (that is, you either need to create them in Premiere, which is easy and good if you want transitions, or you need to use another tool like Picture Show to create them as non-transition stills and import the asset into DVDLab).

    Works for me.
