I did split a DVD with Ifoedit095 but have some problems with the second CD
But it's difficult to find the problem if I don't know what happens while making it.
so what does Get VTS sectors do ?
(Is it a problem if you press it twice ?
what if you don't do it ?)

Video Tile Set vectors basically act as a reallignment tool for the IFO files so the player knows where all the video content is on the disc.
If you make any changes to the VOB structure and don't rebuild the VTS vectors then the disc will most likely not play, or suffer anomalies like rogue chapter points / sudden halts / player lockups.
Doing it twice does just that - no worries. -
Thanks for the info on both of my questions.
reallocation error is gone but I still have some other problems.
(did 'get vts sectors' again)
A bit more difficult I quess:
1) after splitting LOTR the title menu of the second disc was shifted with one so I did change it in the IFO 'title search pointer table PTT' and now it plays right in my PC but in my stand alone it always jumps to the first one on the disc. No matter which one I select.
Maybe it has something to do with the following but in my PC it works fine.
2) I also changed the jump command at startup so that the movie starts playing short after inserting the second disc.
(avoiding the intro and selecting again)
3) Is there a way to change the standard language if it starts?
I know the DVD-player has a standard setting but that doesn't always work then you have to select it in the DVD-menu to make it work.
My DVD+R has French and English but it always start with french. -
Standard language is controlled by the SPRM. System Parameter Registers are different then GPRM's.
The default language is set by your DVD Player. If the DVD is authored correctly, it performs a compare function to get the default language according to SPRM#0, then sets the right stream number for your audio and menu. If it's multilanguage it will also call the correct playlist to display the begining and end credits in the right lang.
Perfered audio language is in SPRM#16, subtitle language is #18.
You can add/modify precommands to set the audio, subtitle, and menu lang.
