  1. Hey all...

I'm currently using TMPGEnc to convert an EXTREMELY clean Quicktime .MOV file, to an MPEG file. Unfortunately whenever I do so, there's some artifacting that seems to show up in the MPEG.

The movie I'm converting is a simple slideshow... display a picture with no movement for 5 seconds, then show another picture, etc. In Quicktime format, it looks PERFECT. It's uncompressed, very crisp, and it looks exactly the way I want it. After converting to MPEG though, I see pixel "wobbling" (for lack of a better term) as a picture is being displayed.

Are there any settings in TMPGEnc I could use to get rid of this problem? Should I try encoding with a different program?

    Regards,

Try messing around with TMPGEnc's filters.. perhaps the Noise Reduction one if you notice 'blocks' in your output video.

  3. I should clarify this... "artifacting" is NOT the term that I should've used. The frames of my MPEG are updating themselves just fine (no blocks of pixels from previous frames hanging around or anything).

The problem is that while the MPEG is displaying a single, non-moving image for 5 seconds or so, it seems like (and this may not really be the case) the palette is changing ever so slightly, producing a sort of "wobble" effect in the image.

Oh, I understand what you mean now. I had a similar issue a few months back. Sadly enough, it didn't affect my video that much, and I just left it as it is. Sorry I don't know of a solution.
