I capture videos in AVI format and use GoldWave to adjust volume (just
open AVI file, it extracts the WAV, then I adjust volume, and save). I
am not able to open very large AVI file - 40GB (but extracted WAV must
be considerably smaller). Temp directory (both windows' and GoldWave's
have plenty of space - 60GB), the option 'use HDD space as memory' is
set. Can somebody tell me what can I do more ? Thanks.

I seem to remember goldwave failing to open al large avi file once too. I think what I did was open it in vdub, extract the wav, then open that in goldwave and it worked fine.
