ok, so I have a decrypted dvd on my hard drive.
I try to use Power DVD's file player as I have the files in a VIDEO_TS folder. and when i play the files they are all scrambled. is this because the files are now region free and the player is set for region 1? if so how can I fix this. I would like to be able to preview the files with Power DVD

  2. Which File are you trying to start with?

I double click on the Video_TS.ifo (I think that's it) file to open that

then my power DVD plays everything from the HD

  3. Or, you can start Power DVD and look for the little icon right next to the Play controler, you can select the source - or just hit Ctrl-O, then select "Open DVD files on Hard Disk", and browse to the .ifo file, you should be set. If it's still scrambled, try re-ripping onto your HD, cause it shouldn't be scrambled at all.

that is exactly the process that I am doing, and the video still comes out scrambled. I have tried re-ripping numerous times using different regions and it still come out scrambled. but if I play just the .vob the movie works, but then i get only audio and video and i can't access the menu to see if everything is functional

thanks guys, maybe something else is the problem?

  5. Unless I'm missing something, then DVD Decrypter is yoru solution. Download it then "decrypt" the files and you should be able to view them perfectly.

  7. I had this same problem, but with WinDVD. All it took to get it straightened out was to uninstall WinDVD and reinstall it. After that everything worked beautifully.

  9. Try ripping the files or original with SmartRipper. I alway check my ripped files with PowerDVD prior to burning a DVDR and never had a problem so far.
