Hi,
I have downloaded a movie which had no sound playing.
I ran it thru G-SPOT 2.2 and it said I need XVID.
I downloaded XVID and installed it.
G-Spot 2.2 says everything is Ok but Divx movie crashes when played in media player or other players eg 'stamp3' player.
G-Spot says audio and 2 video codecs installed.
Plus the file renders successfully.
please help

All my software players were crashing with a 2 different movie DVDrips of my own DVDs which I encoded to DIVX 5.05 avi at 720x480 but not when I encoded the same movie at 640x480 or lesser res. I then tried the ffdshow and set it to play div5 but also used the preprocess resize option to play at 640x480 and the players no longer crash. I don't know the explanation but that is what worked for me. The only reason I caught it is because I was testing various res to see how they affected file size and all the lesser res avi worked fine in my players.
If someone can explain this I would appreciate it also.
You could try ffdshow to play your xvid also. There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
