  1. I have recently upgraded drivers my drivers and softwares for WinXP Pro of my Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1 Plat and now I have problems.

Before I upgraded, when I was watching a DVD movie, my external decoder/amplifier (Creatives DTS-4500) was showing the Dolby Digital light on and the sound was very good and loud.

But now it's terrible. Not only the light does not come on anymore but it plays not loud at all even if I turn the volume higher, it's still very low.

I played with the software mixer settings and other stuff to see if I could resolve it without success. What is going on?

I'm a little bit afraid to use the Systeme Restore thing as I'm not sure how many thinggs I have change after... Could I use Rollback driver for the SB?

I don't understand why it does not work now and it did work before I upgraded my drivers. I did not change anything in my connections.

One more strange thing happened after the upgrade. I have a Video feed from my satellite system and the Asus 8200 Deluxe GeForce 3 Video card line in. My satellite receiver has an optical output which is connected to the Livedrive as well. Before the upgrade, the DD satellites channels had the same problem than the one I actually have with my DVD movies. After the upgrade, it now works but my DVD movies played in the DVD player drive don't. Try to understand something like that... What the heck?

Also, I forgot to mention that in the surround mixer mode, I always had problem when trying to run the speaker test. I only hear the voice from the front left and right speaker but nothing on the other speakers. This is strange because when I do the test directly form the decoder, it works!

  2. Did anybody tried the new patch update as seen on A Live board? Will this resolve my problem?

    Live!Drive Bug Squashed

This patch (LIVEDRVL2030530.exe) fixes a problem in all versions of Windows where the S/PDIF output may not work correctly when the AC3 pass-through is activated on the Live!Drive. You don't need this if you do not use a Live!Drive
