ok I've decided to give the intensity pro in windows 7 another shot becaue its entirely too time consuming rebooting back and forth between Win7 and windows XP.

I have BlackMagic Video For Windows v8.5 (The latest One) For windows 7.

    Now,

    A. Media Express
Records Fine, No Audio Or video problems at all. Compressed WMV-VC1 videos are beautiful.
However there is no FULL SCREEN Option (At least none that I Can See.)(If one exists please let me know as it will solve all my problems.)

    B. Virtual Dub
v1.9.11 AMD 64 detects the hardware, but the preview window is constantly lagging/flickering unless its recording, even then it still messes up.
v1.9.11 32 Doesnt even detect the Capture Source

    VLC
Latest Version does not see the Capture device.

    Media Player Classic
Latest Version does not See the Capture device.

If worse comes to worse, I'll buy a 720p HDTV small enough to fit on my desk and set that one as the Live preview via the Intensity Pro's YPrPb Output. and use the Media Express.

(Since I play and record at the same time.)

I think i got Virtual Dub 1.9.11 64 worked out somewhat...

It seems that I use Preview w/ Acceleration on Progressive/Both everything is ok, if not wierd feeling (looks like 30Fr/sec)

If I use overlay it does the same,

AS Long as I Leave the Audio Device as the Black Magic Intensity's Audio Input.

as soon as I change it to SBLive! to use my Optical input, the Preview frames/sec goes to crap (like its being controlled by the audio some how), and the Audio / Video are no longer in sync (delay on one or the other.)

I'd use the BM Audio inputs, but I have to figure out where this Crackling is coming from, either i need to clean contact somewhere or something.)

I already moved it from the PCIe 1x to secondary PCIe 16x slot.

Edit: as of right now I have been able to finally get virtual dub to work with the 8.0 Drivers, and Bypassed the BM Audio inputs to use the SBLive Optical.

Full 60fps overlay window, that doesnt stutter.

I had to drop my desktop to "Windows Classis" in Win7 to get my Hardware Overlay Acceleration Back at full speed.

  4. Nice report. But why do you need to see the video full screen while capturing?

I record Live Gameplay in 720p While Im Playing., so I just hook the 360 to my BM Intensity pro, open VDub tell it to stretch to fit and full screen it. and when i want to record i just reach over and hit F6 and then ESC to stop.

  6. Yeah, it occasionally happens to me too. Maybe one out of a hundred encodes. It doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Havent Said anything in a While,

But I changed how I record things.

Xbox 360 In with Component or HDMI,
HDMI OUT to Center LCD Screen.

MY Current Setup is 3 Screens now, So I put Media Express on the right screen, open it, switch my Center screen display to HDMI from DisplayPORT, and it just works, no fiddling with DirectX Overlays, setup Res and Frame Rate, hit Record.

also the issue I was encountering with Frames/Per second in the preview window was a result of Windows Aero, with it off everything was smooth, with it on, the Applications were fighting over Hardware Overlay control.
