  1. Hi again everybody... Ok heres the deal.... I converted my .avi file to a PAL SVCD and I made an image with VCD Easy and burnt it with Nero. I gave the SVCD a VCD Header (non-standard) using multiplexing... When I pop it into my JVC XV M565BK dvd player it will play and randomly freeze up whenever it wants, usually within the first four minutes. Any ideas? Thanks alot

  2. I don't understand why made the image when you already converted your .avi file to PAL SVCD mpeg file.

If you have converted your AVI. to SVCD mepg there's no need to make an image.

All you have to do is:

    Open NERO
    Click on SVCD
When it's loaded, just drag and drop your SVCD mpeg file
    then burn!

    That's all

Try Video CD (standard) when multiplexing, it works for some players. There are no guarantees with the header trick.

  5. I have the same problem once in a while with VCD format and I assume it is something wrong in the avi file because even when I make another copy of the avi it still happens. I have never been able to fix the problem. It may be that the original rip didn't remove all of the encryption designed to prevent copying. But I'm guessing. I doubt the header trick suggested by others will work unless you can never watch svcd, but it is worth a try.

Previous poster is correct that you don't need to convert to image file if you use Nero, but I have Nero and still prefer to burn an image first because Nero can be real picky about mpeg formats and reconvert it for you and you don't want that.
