Now, I know it's not that good to have the bitrate at lower than 1600 but if an .avi file is too big, I want to put it at 1500.
In TMPG it won't let me. It's like 1600 is programmed in. Is there anyway to do this.
Thanks

load unlock.mcf, found in the TmpGenc extras folder. Now you can change anything.

Or right click on the Bitrate: word under the settings and choose unlock.

Ok. I clicked unlock in settings. Under MPEG settings in the video tab, I can change the bitrate to whatever I want so I leave it at 1600.
When I get to step 4, the size has gone over 80 mins and is at 104.10%. The up and down arrows next to bitrate don't let me change it so I click on expert to go back to the settings.
In settings, I unlock the bitrate, change it to 1500. Go back to step 4 and the file size is still 104.10% and still at 1600 but the bar in under 80 mins this time.
Does that mean it's reading it as 1500 even though the other settings are still the same (104.10%)
If not, I can't see how to change this still.

Change every "MPEG-1 VideoCD Standard" and "MPEG-1 VideoCD Non-Standard" to "MPEG-1 System (automatic)"... This should do it... If you have a standalone dvd player that plays any mpeg file, than your problem is solved. But if you want to burn it as xvcd, then you better go back to 1150kbps...
