  1. Greetings,
I am about to embark upon my first attempt to transfer VHS to DVD. I taped my niece's wedding last year and want to burn a DVD for her. I have captured the video onto my spare hard drive using WS and now want to edit out certain scenes. You know the scenes I'm talking about, the ones where you forget to stop filming and have 5 minutes of grass and peoples feet (outdoor wedding). Well, I've read the instruction manual and a book that I bought and still not clear how to do it. Do I make a chapter of the section and then delete it? I'm very confused about the Mark In and Mark Out features of WS. I know there are many Workshop users out there and I'm hoping one of you can help. Thanks

  2. the only editing you can do with workshop is the mark in and out edit .this will be a problem if you have many sections you wish to cut out .you really needed to use a program such as premier to edit the video using fades etc inbetween clips .the only way of editing out sections in workshop is to mark in and out on the title ,then add the title again and edit that one etc etc etc ,the bummer with this is that you will end up with no chapter markers ,only titles ,it will work but navigation will be a real pain on the dvd .i hope i'm wrong and someone tells you a way to do it ,but i use workshop a lot ,and think i know its limitations .

  3. Scuda,

What is your opinion of DVD Workshop? If you like it and are comfortable with the way it drives, you might want to consider Ulead Video Studio for an editting tool.

I use it along with WS and am happy. True, it doesn't do as much as some other packages, but if you compare function against price, it is a good value.

    Good luck!
Just what is this reality thing anyway?
