Made loads of sucessful VCDs and decided to switch to SVCD. Coded up a couple of films to mpeg2 with TMPGenc and these play fine on the computer using Real player. However, when burned to disc with Nero 5.9 they have aquired a flicker on horizontal lines, and a jerkiness on movement and pans. Tried burning at lower speeds, still no better. Yesterday I burned the same file using easycd and the result does seem to be acceptable, but it takes a very long time compared to Nero. Anybody know if this is a common problem with Nero? The source files have been original frame rate of both 25 and 29 and the results are just the same converting to Pal.
