Would anyone recomment one around this price?
I know Pinnacle is good..but..it's way too expensive for me...
I want to see if WinTV PVR250 is good or not
I think it's around $200~210 USD here....
any other choice?
I'm currently using Grandmaster's PV256c capture card...
Once I start to do DVD capturing, I find out it'll have audio sync problem when the file size hits to certain point... it will have some problem starting at the same point even I try to recapture the VHS tape! Have updated to latest driver and application but the problem never goes away. So I'm thinking to buy a new and better one about this price range!
Thanks for any suggestion!![]()

If the limit is truly $200.00, the prevailing wisdom is DAC-100. However, if the budgets creeps above $270.00, the fur starts flying as the proponents of ADVC-100 chime in.
Hello. -
How about $90? TigerDirect has the USB Instant DVD package (for PC) that works great! (I have one.) You can capture analog for VCD, SVCD, and three quality levels for DVD. I then use MPEG Splitter (shareware) to split the resulting captures as necessary, and Nero to burn the SVCDs. I'm a Mac person but the Mac package ADS offers is nowhere near as good as this "for PC" unit. I'm capturing to a PIII/466 with 192MB of RAM via USB1.1 for video and line-in for audio. The box has two sets of analog inputs (front "red/white/yellow" phono jacks and a set in the rear but with an S-Video plug, as well). You can bring the analog in - captured on-the-fly to mpeg1/2 - and even send it back out to analog should you want to return it to tape or play it to a TV. There's a more expensive unit that has a USB2 port but the updated software seems to kill off SVCD functionality and make whatever mpegs are captured require the package's extremely proprietary software. Stick to the older unit and be happy.

Hello. -
Yes! Absolutely; a very important thing to remember! Because mpeg2 - even at the highest DVD quality rate - is no more than 5Mbps or so, USB 1.1 can handle it (as it is a 12Mbps technology). And there is no FW port on the Instant DVD box so, if you want to import your DV-camcorder's footage, you will have to connect it via its analog cable.

Since the day I bought my PV256c capture card for only VHS->SVCD or VCD, I'm totally NOT up-to-day about capturing stuffs..
I find out it seems to have problem about capturing DVD after I bought NEC DVD-/+RW...
That's why I want to find out if there has better solution now
Thanks for all info guys! -
Oooh

Thanks!
btw..is ADVC-1394 good? I want to see if it does VHS->DVD ok or not (main task --> kill all VHS and put them in DVDs..)
I like internal card more than external device..
but..ADVC-100 is really better...I would consider it
Thanks!
